Portrait of a Refugee

Mishti Gupta

In this artwork, I have tried to portray the emotions of a refugee. Sketching and pencil shading techniques have been used to express the emotions and pain the refugees go through. In some areas, charcoal pencils have been used to give clothes that scruffy feeling and to give depth to the hair.

Falling Again

Prachi Jain

I made this digital artwork for my Visual art class on the topic of ‘Time and Motion.’ At first I started the artwork like any other drawing, though as I worked more on the artwork I was able to make deeper connections with it. This artwork was inspired by the song ‘Falling’ by Harry Styles, and talks about self-awareness, going through dark times and just feeling alone and swimming in the same place, staying low and facing sadness and so many more emotions with hope being present in the back of the head

Emotionally Drowned Frog

Chinmayi Gaur

I created this piece while going through an overwhelming phase of time. This artwork is open to the audience's perspective but one can say that this little amphibian who manages to survive where and whom people underestimate as a little frog can be drowning with intense emotions. he/she can be looking up in the sky waiting these emotions and these pebbles the world is throwing at them to stop or maybe wondering where it all went wrong. how they went from a simple frog to this complicated drunken emotional ball looking for a full stop. we often overlook a being by some of their unrelated features be it be age, expression, their social battery etc. this frog can be just tired of their life being all pretentious about their cute happy simple life where they just hop around but at the end of the day they look at the sky and overthink.

Fantasy for Cats

Mishti Gupta

This is an artwork of a cat made using soft pastels . In this artwork soft pastels have been used to create the light gradient looking background and also the entire body of the cat ,. Furthermore , more details have been added to the face of the cat as compared to the rest of the body and the background to keep it as the main element in the artwork

The Majestic
Hummingbird

Karan Jain

This artwork I created on blank paper with black pencils showcases my point of view on a hummingbird as a brave, courageous, and majestic bird, a spectacle of beauty.

Sightseeing

Bhav Vohra

Sightseeing is a drawing that I created last year, imagining my most wanted place to visit. I had initially decided to make a light illustration with meager contrast between the background and the circle. One can also call it my fantasy because I’ve illustrated a hilly area which is extremely hot. My intention to create this was to mix a season with its contrary place. I used color pencils, pen and ordinary pencil to come up with this illustration. It took me around an hour to start from scratch and end with this.

The Starry Night

Chinmayi Gaur

Vincent van Gogh was a painter from the Netherlands who had a difficult life. After his death, his artwork became well-known. He was an up-and-coming artist. He suffered from a variety of mental illnesses, which are depicted in his paintings such as the Starry Night. He decided to become an artist when he was 27 years old, but he didn't have any success until after he died. The chosen artwork, “The Starry Night,” is a moderately abstract work that uses a composition of colors, forms, and lines to depict Gogh's life hardships.
